The brainchild of vocalist John Paul Odom (who just so happens to be the son of Tennessee House of Representatives Minority Leader Gary Odom, which totally explains the pseudonymwed want some anonymity, too), J-PO and the V.A.B. are members of Nashvilles fusion-fringe, alongside folks like The Running, Paradise Daze and Small Ax. What is it that these bands are fusing, you ask? Pretty much anything, really: rock, reggae, jazz, funk
the list goes on. J-PO comes down hard on the funk line, with a tight horn section, fuzzy wah-wah guitar and some serious boogie-down keyboards topped with a mix of rap and late-90s alterna-vox to create an aggro-porno vibe. Tracks like Going Down and Sex in the Morning would make a great score for you and your loved ones next home movie.
