It’s a Wonderful Life

There are endless possibilities for surprising yet thoughtful combinations of musicians here in Music City, and Station Inn’s been coming up with some great ones lately, including this trio. Stewart’s a talented picker who’s worked for Doyle Lawson and Brooks & Dunn, but lately he’s been focused on singing his own contemporary-flavored songs. Stapleton’s the much-heralded frontman for The SteelDrivers, with a gruff R&B voice that trumps most of the country stars who’ve had hits with his songs, while Trapp’s a scattergun guitarist who’s been touring with the Jerry Douglas Band, unfailingly meeting the challenge of switching musical gears at the drop of a hat. Your first response to the combo might be “huh?” but “cool” is bound to follow hard on its heels.
