In this year's Best of Nashville issue, we named Indeterminacies the best place to hear contemporary classical music. One of the reasons why we love it so much is its setting inside a commercial art gallery — the current exhibition by Ward Shumaker, for instance, will illustrate this latest installment, and the storefront space makes the event seem casual and unpretentious. Tonight's performance will feature John Latartara, a theorist, musician and composer who teaches music theory and technology at The University of Mississippi. He was granted a Fulbright Senior Scholar award to Thailand, where he researched traditional Thai music. But he also specializes in the use of computer technology to create music. The
Scene's own Jack Silverman, a fancy pants musician in his own right, will moderate the group discussion that makes Indeterminacies such an integral part of Nashville's forward-thinking musical community.
