I’m Jes’ So Proud to Be Here!

The Fusion '09 Music and Arts Festival benefits the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, which was founded after the original blue-collar comedy queen passed away. On the musical docket are The Red Carpet Rats (pomp ‘n’ power-pop), Gabe Dixon Band (classic, piano-heavy songwriting in the John/Joel tradition), Sam and Ruby (The Bird & The Bee-esque acousto-jazz) and Levi Weaver. Along with the tunes and the chance to help out—100 percent of the proceeds go to The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation and their annual Young Adult Cancer Survivor Retreat for cancer survivors ages 20-35—you’ll also get to mingle with a who’s-who of the local visual, film, fashion (new looks will be exhibited previewing a “Nashville’s Next Designer” competition) and media arts community. Tickets are $15 or $50 for a VIP badge. For more information, call 251-3020.
