Ian McLagan at 3rd and Lindsley

I've Just Seen a Face

I've Just Seen a Face
Ian McLagan is not a household name, but he should be. Turn your dial to any classic-rock radio station, and you’re bound to hear his playing within an hour at most. As keyboardist for both The Small Faces and Faces—along with sideman tenures with The Rolling Stones and Billy Bragg and studio credentials boastings names like Frank Black, Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen—McLagan has played a capital role in the production of some of the finest rock ’n’ roll music ever made. Throughout his decorated career he’s also produced a healthy solo output while leading his own group, The Bump Band. Consistent with his British Invasion, R&B and folk-rock background, McLagan’s solo work maintains the rootsy, melodic highs that fans of his establishing works know and love. Fresh off the heels of last month’s—sans Stewart—Faces reunion one-off, he returns to the States for a tour that, once again, brings him to Music City.
