The voice and words belong to jeff obafemi carr, the actor, musician, playwright and radio host who bills himself as Nashville's "Media Scientist," and this acclaimed one-man show is basically his Frankenstein lab—a forum that allows him to explore racial tension, the mixed blessing of his Southern roots and the bonds of family and community as he slips in and out of seven different characters. A veteran stage actor who made an impressive showing in Steve Taylor's 2006 feature The Second Chance, carr issued a 2003 CD of spoken-word performances adapted from his play. This event represents a rare chance to see him perform the touring show live, one night only.
