It's time to dig up those ancient Super 8s and 16 mm films, because Saturday is International Home Movie Day, and the Country Music Hall of Fame is Nashville's official headquarters for the kitschy cult holiday. Established by a group of film archivists in 2002, Home Movie Day gives amateurs around the world a chance to display their personal footage--sometimes intimate and captivating, other times mortifyingly candid. A team of experts will be on hand at the Hall of Fame to inspect old films and determine whether or not they're suitable for transfer and viewing. The event is free, open to the public and certain to contain plenty of footage that looks just like the opening credits of The Wonder Years.
