Now that Nick Stolle has left Nashville, the title of Hardest Working Local Artist is up for grabs. Throwing her hat into the ring early, Jaimie Raybin's Homeschool Yearbook solo show opens almost simultaneously with her group exhibit at gallery F. All of this comes on the heels of Raybin's latest zine, The Scientific Method. Method is a nifty journal that combines scientific observations with great advice for party people. Raybin's work plays with the way an artist's output reflects the artist him/herself. Raybin clearly enjoys this aesthetic cat-and-mouse game, but this isn't kid stuff, and stopping by this oft-overlooked gallery to check out an artist who is poised to make a much bigger name in 2010 is just the kind of bright move a fake scientist of investigation might recommend.
