HOME: Ben Vitualla and Millersville Elementary at Blend

Where the Art Is

Where the Art Is
The Arcade art venues and the other Fifth Avenue galleries threw Nashville's art community--not to mention Nashville's art writers--a curveball this week, moving the First Saturday Art Crawl to July 11 to avoid the July 4 pyromania. With that in mind, we're saving up our downtown picks for next week...with one exception. Take a peek at the HOME exhibit at Blend Studio at 79 Arcade. The gallery's inaugural exhibit features a collaboration between the always inventive Ben C. Vitualla and teacher Lyn Miller's fifth-grade class at Millersville Elementary. True to the show's title, the young artists follow Vitualla's lead, utilizing photography, collage, paintings and video to explore--and express--what "home" means to them.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: June 6. Continues through July 19, 2009
