Holy hell, there's a lotta artists on this bill. With 12 acts on a Sunday, it's a damn good thing they're starting early. Featuring a small army of up-and-coming rappers from outliers like LaVergne and Clarksville as well as new-to-us city folk like DJ T the Beatmaker, tonights show at the Exit/In is like a Whitman's Sampler of regional sounds that you might have missed. We're partial to Sam Machis jeep beats boom and his vocal tone is reminiscent of Pharoahe Monchand the gospel-electro of Ray'mond, but we're also into the smoked-out fast-rapping of Double Trouble and the hardcore grind of Missisippi-born Thuro Da Hustla. Basically, what we're trying to say is that if you're looking for next year's crop of artists to watch, youre gonna have to go out and go out early; there's too much talent on this line-up to be tardy.
