Hip Hop Night Returns to Cafe Coco

Holler if You Hear Me!

Holler if You Hear Me!
Back from beyond the grave, hip hop returns to the backroom at Cafe Coco—and boy are we glad!!! Moved from the weekend to the first and third Wednesdays of the month by order of The Man, this freewheeling night of boom-bap beats and local MCs was sorely missed during its relatively brief absence, leaving a gaping hole in the heart of our city's underground. The festivities have also been moved up to 8 p.m. from their previous late-night slot, which is perfect for sorta-working stiffs like ourselves who don't actually have to be anywhere in the morning, but can't get motivated to leave the house once Leno is on. (Not that we're watching Leno, 'cause that shit ain't funny, but you get the picture.) Hip-hop night is hosted by MC E.T., best known for his work with the Soul Factory and NDPNDNT.
Wed., Nov. 4, 8 p.m., 2009
