Hammertorch at The End

When Murfreesboro country-rockers Hammertorch were passed over for this year’s Next Big Nashville lineup, the little conspiracy theorist that lives in the back of our collective brain—and makes most of our decisions—postulated that it was all a plot to make sure that Music City's lap-steel hacks didn't get shown up. Unlikely, we know, but paranoia is the diesel that keeps this truck a-runnin'. On the new ’Torch EP Big Softies, we find the band outgrowing their Glossary Jr. training pants and heading into more spacious and spaced-out territory. Perhaps it’s a little more pop, but with their typical explorations of the Volunteer State psyche left intact. Hammertorch are joined by Music City's beardos-in-chief Hands Down Eugene and those lovable scamps Shoot the Mountain.
