Guy Fieri at TPAC

Bleach-blond, bespiked and vandyked, Guy Fieri is the “bad boy” of the Food Network. He drives hot rods! He has tattoos! He eats greasy food at Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! (The three D’s after which two Fieri cookbooks and a series were named). Fieri’s triple identity as chef, rock ’n’ roll bruiser and dutiful dad has proven so commercial that Anthony Bourdain (a certified-platinum outrageous personality in his own right) compared him to Poochie, the designed-by-committee “extreme” sidekick of Simpsons duo Itchy & Scratchy. Yet fans defend Fieri as the one chef on TV who seems to honestly relish food. So now the guy who sells his own Knuckle Sandwich line of cook knives has become the most divisive figure in the food world. Do ya love him or hate him? Nashvillians can decide for themselves when Fieri brings his 21-cities-in-30-days Guy Fieri Roadshow to town. Nashville chef Tully Wilson of Hartsville’s Tully’s Bistro opens the “blow-your-mind entertainment” with a cooking demo.
