Back in the day, when Jack White was still upholstering furniture and JEFF the Brotherhood was just a twinkle in Big Bob Orrall’s eye, there was a little band from Japan that set the bar for all-out rock ’n’ roll destruction. That band was Guitar Wolf, and 25 years later there’s still no better example of pure unmitigated goon-fury than the Japanese trio. You kids might think you’re cool with your Day-Glo half-shirts and your house shows, but you ain’t got nothing on this leather-clad gang that’s been channeling Lemmy, Link Wray and The Ramones since before your dad forgot to pull out. Not only are they responsible for some of the best three-chord thrash of all time, but they gave us one the best B-movies/drinking games ever: 2000’s zombie-alien-roxploitation masterpiece Wild Zero. The Wolf is joined by The Transistors, Hans Condor and Black Willis.
