Perhaps best known by their pre-lawsuit moniker, Green Jello, this mondo-absurdist institution has, over the course of 27 years and 213 members—including Tool drummer Danny Carey—made an art-form out of being abominably horrible. In 1993, they had a novelty hit with their adaptation of "Three Little Pigs," the clay-mation video for which was a regular rotation "buzz" clip back in the days when MTV still played videos. Now a reminder of a bygone era in which a newfangled fluke could slip through the cracks and into the mainstream. Their stage show features an array of gargantuan costumes, audience interactive food fights, and probably some other oddities I dare to even imagine. Couple that with song titles like "The Misadventures of Shitman", "Obey the Cowgod", or "Satan's Ham" and you've got yourself some entertainment. Recommended for fans of Gwar, Kiss, Rob Zombie movies, or anything else colorfully tasteless. These troubadours of irreverence bring their chimerical cabaret, appropriately, to the Muse on Monday night.
