Grand Opening feat. Buddy Spicher

When: Sun., March 27, 2 p.m. 2011
Minnesota native, Mike Snider Band fiddler, luthier and violin repair master Brian Christianson had been mulling over the idea of opening his own shop when a providential meeting with fiddle legend and long-time East Nashville resident Buddy Spicher kicked the project into high gear. The result is the opening of a re-christened, re-purposed Fiddle House—once Spicher’s recording studio and now Christianson’s acoustic string shop, specializing in violin repair, restoration, general maintenance, instrument sales and so on. To celebrate the occasion and offer neighbors, interested musicians and the general public a chance to check out the premises, the Grand Opening will kick off with a special program at 2 p.m. that features Chris Scruggs interviewing “Pioneers Of Country Music” — Spicher, Charlie Collins and Pete Wade among them. Spicher’s Nashville Swing Band follows at 4 with plenty of special guests promised. Food, music, informed reminiscence — it’s the kind of event that makes East Nashville what it is.
