Good Company: A Honky Tonk Benefit for Billy Block

When: Thu., April 17, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $10
Through his weekly variety show — an ancillary of sorts to the Grand Ole Opry that’s helped promising newcomers gain a foothold in Nashville for 18 years — Billy Block has earned a great deal of gratitude. It’s all been coming back to him in a phenomenal outpouring of support across the industry, from CMA winners to the greenest hopefuls, since he announced his diagnosis with an aggressive form of cancer in January. Tonight’s benefit concert features Good Company — a collective of singers, songwriters, and session players headed by Mike Willis, an alum of The Billy Block Show. Willis and his rotating cast of ringers have written for or played with a vast array of top talents, from Ronnie Milsap and Keith Urban to Lyle Lovett and Vince Gill, so there’s no telling who might show up.
