Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre is in constant motion for the holidays, with three different offerings in rotation throughout the month. The Mainstage merriment is Glad Tidings. This variety show — conceived and compiled by Martha Wilkinson and Bobby Wyckoff and pitched toward a more mature audience — features comic scenes and holiday musical favorites. Playing at the venue’s Backstage theater is The Bop She Bops: Merry Christmas, Baby, a Yuletide spinoff of an original Lydia C. Bushfield play performed at Chaffin’s previously. Returning characters Mary, Carol and Jackie prepare to perform at the local Christmas celebration, singing some of the best seasonal songs from the 1960s and ’70s. Finally, there’s the Barn’s Children’s Christmas Show, presented on a more limited schedule, which features Santa’s elves, Frosty and the big man himself. Good fun with the kiddies in mind.
