Cold Front, Hot Art
The Arts Company rings in the New Year with Gallery Classics: Hot Chocolate. Hot Cider. Hot Art, featuring the works of photographer Rod Daniel and sculptor Bill Starke. The exhibit opens Saturday to coincide with the first art crawl of the year, but tonight offers a preview and conversation with Daniel. Best known as a Hollywood veteran with numerous directing credits in film (Teen Wolf) and TV (WKRP in Cincinnati), the Middle Tennessee native will discuss his new series of epic landscape photographs that capture the Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. He will also discuss the ever-changing medium and his decision to go digital. As for Starke, his bronze and aluminum sculptures keep getting bigger and better as he shows off new versions of his divers and climbers.
Thu., Jan. 7, 5-7 p.m.; Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 7. Continues through Jan. 29, 2010
