When: Feb. 20-March 2 2014
For those of us who have seen Ron Howard’s 2008 movie version of Frost/Nixon and were either enthralled or disappointed, Studio Tenn Theatre Company provides an opportunity to visit Peter Morgan’s original 2006 stage drama about British journalist David Frost’s series of 1977 televised interviews with the fallen U.S. president. As with all things Nixon, there remains continual fascination with his dark personality and the Watergate-era rationalizations he maintained, though this tale equally concerns how Frost, who died just last winter, set up and closed the high-profile media deal. No matter what, expect an effort to meet the challenge of the script, as director Matt Logan has gathered top players for a cast that includes Brent Maddox as Frost, Robert Kiefer as Nixon, plus Ross Bolen, Corey Caldwell, Nat McIntyre and a few excellent others in support.
