Table talk
Nashville’s Table’s annual holiday card fundraiser is under way. Metro councilman and artist Phil Ponder provided the image for the seasonal greeting card, which depicts the snow-swept exterior of the original Hermitage. The nondenominational holiday greeting inside reads, “Warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season.” Cards can be purchased at a cost of $15 for 10, $70 for 50 and $125 for 100, with discounts for orders over 500; 50 percent of the cost is tax-deductible. Tribute cards, which can be inserted into the card, acknowledge a special donation to Nashville’s Table on behalf of the recipient and can be purchased in sets of five for $25; those are 100-percent tax-deductible. Ponder’s original pen-and-ink drawing will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with bids accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 15. Using the proceeds from the sale of just 10 cards, Nashville’s Table can supply enough food for 25 meals to feed those in need. To order cards or bid on Ponder’s drawing, call 244-4564 or e-mail cgentry@nashvillestable.org.
