Tom Pappas makes a habit of crafting stage signs with his bands’ names on them — and it’s a good thing, because he’s got a lot to keep up with. Pappas, who is best known for his days in ’90s alt-rock group Superdrag, keeps himself busy with more rock than you’d think a mere mortal could dole out — or keep track of without the assistance of signage. Between various cover bands, the riff-mad Rock City Birdhouse and Flesh Vehicle — whose roots reach back to 1996 — Pappas is making sure the city doesn’t forget what it feels like to listen loud. Now that we think about it, maybe Pappas should invest in a “We politely suggest earplugs” sign. But that would ruin all the fun.
