The last time a band piqued my interest with a Facebook invite from Little Hamilton, Nashville's venerable warehouse punk show space (slash anarchist gift shop), I wound up being one of three paying customers and the band didn't even show up. No wonder the beloved space is threatening to close for good in May. So let's all hope that Denton, Texas' Final Club doesn't get lost on their way here — not just because it would send me spiraling into seasonal affective depression, but because they completely and utterly rule. The noise-pop quartet takes the Pixies' loud-quiet-loud formula and buries it in a sea of fuzz and catchy hooks. Their Blank Entertainment EP is one of 2011's most criminally undiscovered records, possibly thanks to the fact that you can only buy a physical copy from an obscure record label in Germany. Also playing are locals Spanish Candles, Mom & Dad, Dirty Dreams and New York's Mayday.
