Faculty Biennial Art Exhibition

With its "Space for New Media" set to open early next year, the engaging Front Porch Conversations blog and the efforts of Gallery Director Jodi Hays Gresham, Tennessee State University is throwing its hat into the ring as one of the city's most important centers for creativity and innovation. This faculty art show at the Hiram Van Gordon Memorial Gallery puts a spotlight on the talented TSU teachers who are helping lead that charge. Artists on display include Samuel Dunson, Xingkui Guo, Jodi Hays, Carlyle Johnson, Jennifer Leach, Michael McBride, Jane Allen McKinney and Paul Zeppelin. Dunson--who showed earlier this year in TAG's temporary Arcade space--is a relentlessly innovative painter who incorporates hip-hop mythology into his vivid narratives.
