Eye Candy at Rymer Gallery

Eye Want Candy

Eye Want Candy
Inaugurating the New Year with a small group show, Rymer Gallery enlists a roster of ringers for what could be the year’s first standout exhibit. While the variety of art the gallery displays may sometimes cause visual whiplash, Rymer’s 2009 schedule was punctuated by pleasant surprises, and this initial offering bodes well for their 2010 lineup with installations by Charles Clary, Jamey Grimes and Dooby Tompkins. Tompkins’ last show of paintings at Rymer was one of the best local exhibits of 2009, and we’re anxious to see his new project: an installation of inter-connecting paintings that read like a gonzo comic strip. The show will also feature encaustic work by Brandi Milosavich and a collection of cast -iron found objects by Kristina Colucci.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 9. Continues through Feb. 27, 2010
