Thank you Jim, this is AWESOME! I love how you word things. "cunning stunts and stunning … jugglers!" ;-)
And yes, beware mixxxin' with me. ;-)
Unfortunately, William Tyler will not be performing for this show. Donovan Quinn will be touring with Six Organs and taking his spot. If you wanna see some virtuoso guitar styling be sure and attend this show.
You DO NOTwant to miss this show. The Parlotones may well be the best band on the planet.
Awesome show last night at the Exit In. Local H brought the thunder , and slayed any thought of the 90's being extinct. Scott Lucas & Brian St. Clair have yet again proven to be a great "two piece meal deal."

Alright!! I was lucky enough to see Shooter kill it in Asheville, now I get to see him again. Their show is so amazing that I may just have to drive up to Louisville for the Saturday show too.

San Francisco's Yard Dogs Road Show is a full spectrum entertainment experience that ignites the senses of sound, sight and soul. This world traveling “hobo cabaret” fuses the classical influences of vaudeville with the modern hard-driving pulse of rock and roll. The show’s dynamic thirteen member cast combines their unique talents of burlesque, sword swallowing, musical magic and more to create a fantasy fulfilling performance.
Prepare for a cartoon ride through their psychedelic reality as gold-winged goddesses dance, a spaceman soars on guitar, and rabbits carry rainbows - all under a confetti filled sky.
YDRS is a conceptually leaderless family of friends who travel and perform together, creating their own reality in a mad mix of compromise and mutual support.

Its Gentlemen Divers, not Drivers. Dammit, we need to change our name.
This show is going to be amazing. 3 of Nashville's greatest artists!
Thank you Jim, this is AWESOME! I love it! "cunning stunts and stunning … jugglers!" ;-)

I saw them in 2007, and they were really good. Although I wouldn't say the singer was anywhere near a dead ringer for David Byrne. He was kind of large and in charge and had long crazy blue hair.
But I didn't get the impression that they were trying to LOOK like the band. Just sound like em, and they were real good at that.
We need more events like Nashville Flipside!!! Thanks to Barry Ladd for promoting the Indie Artist!

The first night of the Nashville Fringe Festival set it all up just right: Charles Butler and Associates were the fringiest; I was totally unprepared for how rocking that sweet bluegrass would be - always love a thumping double bass; and they play in an almost-jazz format: spot-lighting one splendid instrumentalist after another! Coolin' System is always very hot & very cool! Add in Chris West on sax for the Chris-Cross effect - well, yeah! (Catch Chris at the upcoming Fringe event at Bongo Java After Hours on Tues., June 28). Kidsmeal is just simply the best in town at what he does! Deep Fried 5 gets better and stronger every time I see them, as individual musicians and as a unit. When Miqui Gutierrez joins them, the funk/fusion heats all the way up. (Miqui and his own band R0zetta Groove head-line the Fringe event at 12th & Porter, Wed., June 29). Music City Soul Dancers are incredible; mere human beings CAN'T be making those moves - must use smoke and mirrors?!? The Fringe "Spirit Award" to Ritt and Margie Chitwood, by the men of DF5 did not leave a dry eye in the house; one of those truly moving moments. Great night! Great fun! Great start to the 2011 Nashville Fringe Festival!
Electric Six was very entertaining, good all the way around. The Constellations are a very average band playing average songs. The guitar player was lifeless, the drummer was stock, lead singer was a cardboard cutout of a typical singer, the keyboard players were a joke, the bass player was really good. There songs were ready for dynamics, but there were none. Most of the songs flat-lined all the way through. The Constellations somewhat prove the snowball effect for bands right. Get enough inertia behind an Okay band and people will believe they are good.
I had seen Dear and the Headlights with Jimmy Eat World, and loved their live set. I have to say it was a little lackluster last night. Exit in, dead, bored staff, room full of skinny jean teenagers, and odd line-up. Kinch while sounded good, just seemed to be very out of place in nashville. And with the first band being The Cold Stares, sounded like Led Zeppelin or somebody opening for Toad the Wet Sprocket. Dear and the Headlights were great again live, singer is phenom. But I was still reeling from the first band to really intake the cool nerdiness that has become recent rock. Maybe I'm just too old (28), but after last night I went home and put up my recent emo collection, and dusted off my old catalog of fu manchu and veruca salt albums.

I pray Sheldon finds his way around the Music Row crowd that can be quite tricky. Be professional in the office and rock when on stage. I wish you the best old friend.

“What VINYL THIEF has created is an energetic romp of a stage show and an engaging EP that both defy definition at every angle. Electro-rock comes close, but cannot quite touch what these young talents have unearthed.” -Brite Revolution

Just wanted to say this was the Best accoustic show I have ever seen! So unique - so live & loud !! With master frontman Jim Dandy keeping the fans on their feet . Singing many songs fans had not heard in yrs such as "Hills of Arkansas" & "High & Dry". Rickie Lee, Orig member, strummed, harmonized & entertained ! Hal McCormack, gave fans their money's worth with his awesome electric guitar performance!!! Jim Dandy has still got IT !!!
Been too long since you played Nashville. Just bought my tickets. Exit/In. It's gonna be killer to see you guys in a small venue. Love the new album, Black Ribbons. Playing it right now. Ready to rock tomorrow! J. Wilson
