Endangered Heritage: Nature in the Balance at Tinney Contemporary

Wild, Wild Life

Wild, Wild Life
Recently returned from Los Angeles, native Tennessean Rachael McCampbell's new exhibit finds the artist--and the Tinney Contemporary Gallery--putting their money where their message is. McCampbell's large, textured paintings bring endangered species such as the whooping crane, red wolf, Florida cougar, bighorn sheep and the Nashville crayfish to life, even as her new sculpture--actually made from parts of deceased animals--reminds us of their plight. A percentage of sales will benefit The Land Trust for Tennessee, preserving land for the birds, animals and marine life that thrive in our natural spaces.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Feb. 21. Continues through April 25, 2009
