East Nashville Arts Fest

When: Sat., May 22, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sun., May 23, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. 2010
It’s called the East Nashville Arts Fest, but the work on display will be arriving from all over Tennessee, and from as far away as Michigan and Florida. More than 70 artists, artisans, crafters and printmakers will roll their wares — including paintings, sculptures, handmade jewelry, metalwork and mixed-media art — into Five Points for the two-day free event. Among the participants are Jason Brammer, a Chicago-based artist whose multifangled “Time Machines” series assembles steampunk-inspired contraptions out of wood, bolts, wire and antique hardware; printmakers Yee-Haw Industries, whose work will be familiar to anyone who’s visited their bustling downtown Knoxville shop or seen any of their boldly designed show posters; and Nashvillian Meg Giuffrida, former proprietor of the sorely missed restaurant Red Wagon, who will be debuting her latest endeavor, Beeline A-Lines — skirts made from vintage tablecloths and other vintage fabrics.
