Nashville has no shortage of great art and artists. What it could really benefit from, however, is a cohesive structure to unite artists from their studios in solidarity toward a local art-making movement. It's happened in cities less capable than ours, and it feels like the time is right for Nashville's art community to galvanize its forces. Bill Brimm's new Bryant Gallery might very well be an attempt at such a movement, starting small (for now): in East Nashville. Located in the heart of Five Points, the gallery's opening exhibition will host work from East Nashville artists. Andee Rudloff's Hillbilly Cakes series will be joined by work from Anderson Williams, Beth Seiters, Donna Rizzo, John Reed, Lena Lucas and Tommy Holt.
