A couple of years ago, in a conversation with the Scene, Drive-By Truckers frontman Patterson Hood referred to Murfreesboro stalwarts Glossary as his new favorite band that nobody knows about. Its nice to have fans, and this isnt the first time DBT have asked Glossary to join them on a bill. Its a pairing that works well. Both bands have a deeply held Southern identity that is skillfully filtered through infectious, well-written rock songsand both put on one hell of a live show. It seems the Drive-By Truckers model would also be a good one for Glossary to emulate: Years and years of thankless touring and wonderful, underappreciated albums, followed by some well-earned success. This year looks to be another good one for the Truckers, with the release of a live DVD in July and an upcoming rarities collection slated for September.
