By the time you read this, Mercy Lounge’s Winter of Dreamz concert series will be nearly wrapped up, so it’s anyone’s guess if your dreamz, were you so bold as to articulate them, materialized or crashed and burned. Celebrate or grieve at the series’ big finish, where members of Holly House (a local music collective) will merge and recombine members and material with the sort of dizzying ease only possible between people who’ve slurped beers at each other’s shows for years. Our guess is that Eureka Gold’s airiness will temper the clatter of Shoot the Mountain, while The Garland Sisters’ crooning will sweeten up And the Relatives. We don’t even want to think about what The Tits will do to The Glib—we’re just afraid we won’t be able to look away. The bands are breaking out the Christmas covers and providing hors d’oeuvres, which means those $2.50 pints of Sweetwater will come in extra handy. Formal wear or Christmas sweaters are highly encouraged, and if you can’t swing the $3 cover, bring a canned good for charity. If all that earnest Christmas cheer doesn’t warm the cockles of your hard, cynical local-rock heart, take it up with Santa, who’s supposed to drop by.
