Mark it eight, Lebowski Fest, and step aside. Here comes the WhedonFestthree days devoted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedons film, TV and comic-book worlds, coming Aug. 7-9 to Camp Y.I. in Lavergne. Well have more on that when the time comes, but in the meantime you can explore one of the most curiously affecting corners of the Whedonverse: his 43-minute musical web series Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris as a wannabe supervillain who watches with jealous misery the romance of oily caped crusader Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion) and pure Penny (Felicia Day). In advance of WhedonFest, the Middle Tennessee fan group Whedonites United and organizer Will Prater are hosting an early-afternoon showing of Dr. Horrible, followed by a car wash in the Sherlocks Book Emporium parking lot and a Rocky Horror-style screening in Sherlocks small screening room. See whedonitesunited.com for more information.
