When it was announced that Don Evans would be participating in Tinney’s current exhibit, My Magic Cape, we should have known that he wouldn’t be satisfied to merely add his work to a gallery. Part rabble rouser, part clown, part agent provocateur, tonight Evans will get into character to create the kind of interactive performance space that has always been his calling card. Although no one can really be sure what to anticipate, our sources tell us to expect performance adaptations of Evan’s work utilizing three-dimensional sculpture, sound elements and projected media as well as costumed participants culminating in an all-out sensory extravaganza. One past “happening” at Ruby Green gallery also resulted in spontaneous eruptions of joy from all who were present.
