As far as we can tell, this dude is not related to the more famous drumming Starkeys, the hearing-aid manufacturer or the bait shop out by Percy Priest. On the other hand, we can tell you that this Philly DJ does make some damn smooth, atmospheric, down-tempo dance music that's slow and bass-heavy but doesn't quite fall into the dubstep category … which is a welcome change. Don't get us wrong: Dubstep is great, but didn't “wamp” lose in the primaries? Hey-oh! Seriously though, we cherish a little textural variety in our boom-fueled beats, and Starkey's take totally tickles our proverbial pickle, even if it's on the lethargic end of things. If you could get Xanax on tap, this dude would be the biggest DJ in the world. Kendo from Two Fresh is opening with some dude named Wick-It, who we've never heard of. Only kidding.
