DJ Jazzy Jeff

When: Sun., May 29, 9 p.m. 2011
If the first things that pop into your mind when you hear the words “Jazzy Jeff” are parental misunderstanding and Uncle Phil’s uncanny ability to hurl grown men through open doors, please reconsider — the dude is one of the all-time great DJs. What people often forget is that way, way, way back it was Jazz that got top billing — Jeff was the draw and The Fresh Prince was just a rapper. Granted, Jazz’s acting skills aren’t, um, uh, well, really skillful, but put the man behind a set of turntables and you are gonna have your mind blown — if rockin’ a party is an artform, this dude is DaVinci. We’re not even going to venture a guess as to what he’s going to play because the only thing you can expect out of Jazz is the unexpected — dude barrels through sounds like Navy Seals in a sovereign nation, taking no prisoners and droppin’ bombs! Plus there was that one time he threw Phil out the door, which was totally awesome.
