Stand-Up Open Mic Night at Springwater
It’s been said by at least one local wag that there’s always an element of danger with shows at Springwater, Music City’s acclaimed “best” dive bar. Both the crowd and the language can be rough, and there’s always the challenge of finding a seat in the packed house. (Other places might promote themselves as an “intimate listening room”; that dog simply won’t hunt at the laid-back venue on 27th Ave. near Centennial Park.) But here’s to the element of surprise, since you never know who’s going to show up or what's going to happen. With luck, it’ll be funny and exciting. Joe Southards is the host for this first-Wednesday-of-every-month laughfest, which should attract both Nashville vets honing their chops or trying out new material as well as newbies looking to make an impression.
