If the wildly successful videogame franchise ever decides to expand with Dobro Hero, Douglas would be on the cover. Douglas speed and proficiency prompted Ricky Skaggs to dub him Flux. Hes a three-time CMA Musician of the Year and has won a dozen Grammys, many of them as a member of Alison Krauss Union Station. Since the 70s, Douglas has played with a cast of artists that reads like a Hall of FamePaul Simon, Ray Charles, Elvis Costello, Béla Fleck, Emmylou Harris, James Taylor, et al.and released at least a dozen solo albums that showcase his felicitous tastes, from a jazzy, 10-minute, Eastern-toned composition penned by Bill Frisell to rocking 2005s The Best Kept Secret alongside guitarists Derek Trucks and Keith Sewell. His latest, Glide, reflects his grass roots refracted through warm texture and tone that draws on his other varied influences.
