Here’s a bit of mind-blowing, insider dope for you: According to one well-placed source at Comedy Central’s just-renewed-for-a-third-season Tosh.0, the far-too-amiable-to-be-truly-lacerating host doesn’t even really like the Internet. Sure, the tech-savvy show’s “Web Redemptions” segments provide the opportunity to restore a little karmic balance to the World Wide Web, but all things considered, instead of surfing online he’d much rather spend his time surfing the waves at his Hermosa Beach home. Or hanging out with Simon, his Maltese. Or entertaining folks live and in-person as an old-fashioned stand-up comedian. Onstage, the prolific writer’s aw-shucks bewilderment is often delivered with a dark twist, a combination that’s earned him appearances on everything from The Bob & Tom Show and Letterman to Leno and Kimmel, and on the far side of the spectrum with a role in Mike Myers’ The Love Guru. In other words, he’s LOLing all the way to the bank.
