Dale Ann Bradley w/Garnet Imes Bowman, Kim Fox & Larry Cordle

When: Sat., July 17, 9 p.m. 2010
Price: $12
A providentially arranged grouping, this quartet — they’ll be backed by a band that includes scrumptious Bradley band members Chris Harris (mandolin) and Mike Sumner (mandolin), alongside Bradley’s son John on bass — has more connections than an old-fashioned switchboard. So, while they may not have performed in this exact combination before, there’s no dearth of material or arrangements from which to draw. Bradley and Cordle have plenty of honors between them as both singers and songwriters — though in a writing-centric town, folks might not be aware of how Cordle simply owns any stage on which he appears — but Fox and Bowman both deserve a lot more attention than they’ve gotten in a notoriously fickle (yep, even the bluegrass end of it) business. Fox has a nice and growing catalog of solid, meaty songs, and both she and Bowman are simply great singers, equally adept at backing others or stepping out on their own.
