This appearance from New Orleans’ new-school leader Curren$y is the latest installment in Phatkaps’ exclusive concert series — you know, the one that brought Clipse here in a blizzard and still packed the place out. Barring any unforeseen temper tantrums on the part of Mother Nature, you can count on this member of XXL’s “Freshman ’09” class and founder of the Fly Society clothing line to bring out a packed house of sneaker-freakin’, fashion-forward fans. Curren$y served time on the rosters of both Master P’s No Limit Records and Lil Wayne’s Young Money before finding success on his own with last year’s This Ain’t No Mixtape album, though we’re kinda partial to his actual mixtapes — like February’s Smokee Robinson. Local underground sensation Dee Goodz — whose hella dope Cooly High mixtape dropped on Tuesday — opens.
