If all she had were the looks of a morning anchor, that would be plenty—she’s even easier on the eyes than her coffee-hour competitor Soledad O’Brien. What makes her a crush is her confidence and cool-handed skill, which comes through even in her no-bull directness on-air. At her previous gig in Tallahassee, she covered the backwash of the historically chaotic 2000 presidential election; here, she was among the first on the scene to report the death of Johnny Cash. We should all be so sharp reporting to work at 2 a.m. At the very least, we should all have a Jamie Reese waiting for us when we open our eyes.
