Isaac Marksman wears a lot of hats, literally and figuratively. He’s an international traveler, a member of the PG-13 Players, burgeoning producer, high school senior and established DJ. And he turns our tables, all right. Coo coo ca-choo, and call us Mrs. Robinson. The multi-talented, sweet-cheeked 17-year-old is set to graduate from Montgomery Bell Academy this spring. But every weekend at Bar Twenty3, you’ll see him behind the decks, creating the groove. Not a bad after-school gig. Isaac started messing with the turntables around age 14 and had his first official gig at Orbit/Exess at 15. “I live three lives,” he says. “First, there’s school. After school, I work on producing. Friday and Saturday nights, I’m DJing.” Isaac plans to stay here for a year after graduation to take classes at the School of Audio Engineering. After that, he’s off to London, where he hopes to go to college. And about those hats.... “I actually have several hats. They all look the same, though. They match my sweaters.” Oh, what a sweet man-child....
