The Jennifer Garner of the Metro Council, Ginger Hausser is often the only reason to check out Channel 3 each week. An almost irrelevant body under the top-down administration of Mayor Bill Purcell, the Metro Council rarely lands on the front pages anymore. When it does, it’s for something like debating a resolution on Magic Week. (Then there’s the fact that it counts among its members Buck Dozier and Ronnie Greer.) But we don’t have a bad thing to say about Ginger, easily the best-looking woman in City Hall. OK, that’s like being the best actor on Couples, but Hausser’s hardly a big fish in a small pond. She could turn Charlie Sheen’s head. We’ve seen her at Easy’s, on what looked like a date at the Mirror, at the Green Hills Y, and, of course, on Channel 3. She could rezone our district anytime, heh hehand she wouldn’t have to approve our bill on second reading. One of the few progressive voices on the Council, Hausser could stand to be more outspoken, and as she represents Hillsboro Village we’d like her to show more interest in the city as a whole. She could also return our phone calls every now and then (the professional ones, anyway). But we’re just quibbling. We’ve got Hausser fever (or is it Ginger-vitis?). And the only cure is more cowbell.
