Cover Music: it Requires Little Thought and Less Energy!

The Vandelays at the Rutledge

The Vandelays at the Rutledge
In the brief span of time between Next Big Nashville and the Americana Music Festival, you'll probably be doing one of two things: resting your ears and completely avoiding live music or looking for another means of self-punishment. Well, if you're a true show warrior and an unabashed fan of broad '90s rock, I've got just the thing for you.

The Vandelays are as sentimental and obvious as their Seinfeld-derived name, but hell, we all love cheeseballin' from time to time. They're a cover band that specializes in an era of music too fresh to be forgotten and too stale to be hip--pure '90s. I'm talking "Now That's What I Call '90s" '90s. Cranberries, Tom Petty, Alanis Morissette...the list goes on and on. From the sound of it, they do the tunes justice, but I'm getting the chills just thinking about all the 35-year-old bros-turned-businessmen doing shots and singing along to No Doubt's "Don't Speak."
