Corporate Juggernaut: Kurt Metzger

There is nothing we love more than somebody who will speak truth to power, razz the hierarchy and stick it to the man — and that’s really just the cherry on top of Kurt Metzger’s awesomeness sundae. While we loved the dude’s 2011 comedy album Kurt Metzger Talks to Young People About Sex and are religiously devoted to his zombie-roommate character on Comedy Central’s Ugly Americans, Metzger earned a place in our hearts (right next to Emma Goldman) when he decided to call out the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York for not paying its comics. While we don’t have any particular beef with UCB, we are the sort of folks who think artists deserve to be paid. We’re glad Metzger isn’t letting it fall by the wayside.
