Community Cinema: The State of Arizona

When: Wed., Dec. 4, 11:30 a.m. 2013
The ITVS Community Cinema series, held in partnership with Nashville Public Television, is another of those local gifts that sounds too good to be true but isn’t: free monthly screenings of current documentaries from the PBS Independent Lens series, accompanied by a public discussion and a complimentary light lunch. For this season, the screenings move to NPT’s Studio A, starting with this month’s offering: Carlos Sandoval and Catherine Tambini’s account of the bitter fight over Arizona’s controversial SB1070 legislation, which launched a nationwide debate on race and immigration that climaxed in a 2012 Supreme Court ruling. The screening is open to the public, but visit to reserve a spot.
