Christmas Belles at Chaffin's

Holiday Feast for Young and Old

Holiday Feast for Young and Old
No one has geared up for the holidays more than Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre. With A Sanders Family Christmas already toe-tapping the Barn’s Backstage venue, the company also offers on its mainstage Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten’s holiday comedy Christmas Belles. Here, the authors of Dearly Beloved return to Fayro, Texas, where the feuding Futrelle sisters attempt to mount a Christmas program despite Santa’s kidney stone, a cast bout of food poisoning and various encroaching family concerns. Farcical mishaps abound, and an Elvis impersonator puts in an appearance at the manger. Nate Eppler directs, and his mostly veteran ensemble of 11 includes David Compton, Michael Montgomery, Dietz Osborne, Layne Sasser and Martha Wilkinson. For the kiddies, the Barn will also present daytime performances of Sarah and the Secret of Santaland, an original script by Eppler and Osborne based on a story by Davey Peppers. Santa has lost his mojo, and young Sarah and her special friends help him solve a series of clues and puzzles to regain the Christmas magic. Osborne directs the cast of six, with Cortney Buczkowski in the title role.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 19. Continues through Dec. 31, 2009
