The treehouses are gone, days are getting shorter, and the remains of summer flowers will soon be covered by fall foliage: All signs indicate that it’s time for Cheekwood’s Harvest. Wander through the grounds — but look out for those scarecrows, because they’re back — and revel in the glory of more than 5,000 chrysanthemums. Visit the new Cheekwood pumpkin patch, where you can find your own pumpkin to take home. Special selections from last year’s popular Trains! exhibit will return for the Harvest session, and weekly events include live music, guided garden and museum tours, family “artivities” and appearances from the Nashville Public Library Puppet Truck. A full schedule is available at cheekwood.org, and Harvest activities run through Oct. 31. Don’t miss your chance to see our local horticultural treasure during this exceptionally beautiful time of year.
