First Denice Hicks in the recent, noted local production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Now another Nashville actress, Jamie Farmer, takes to the air, this time as Charlotte the barn spider in Nashville Children’s Theatre’s latest effort, with flying effects provided by ZFX, Inc. Joseph Robinette’s stage adaptation, based on E. B. White’s popular tale of love and devotion, takes theatergoers to Zuckerman’s Farm, where the delightful runt pig Wilbur appears headed for the dinner table — as main course, not as guest. Yet he is saved by the remarkably crafty Charlotte, and the whole town begins talking about it. Some pig! Scot Copeland directs, and in addition to the high-flying farmer, his veteran cast includes Evelyn Blythe, Kamal Bolden, Shawn Knight, Amanda Card-McCoy, Brian Webb Russell and Eric D. Pasto-Crosby.
