Despite the recent growth of galleries and alternative spaces in Nashville, the local art scene still finds itself wanting when it comes to venues that feature photography exclusively. Local art-abouts have to get their photo fix where they can find it, at sporadic photography shows in gallery and museum spaces and on the walls of the coffeehouses and restaurants with a bohemian bent. In the month of December, the East Side haunt Mad Donna's will feature the photos of local shutterbug Chad Wilkerson. Wilkerson seeks out the hidden beauty in the natural, mundane, everyday world that surrounds us. With his love of vivid colors and his eye for abstract composition, Wilkerson can transform a piece of rusted metal into a wishing star or a lush green garden in a flash.
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 31, 2008
